The VapirRise 2.0 comes with a 2 year warranty standard, that's a nice upgrade over the 1 year. The other goal of this release was to accommodate a minority of users that wanted even more from the Rise, despite it offering more than virtually all other units on the market. The Rise was already a great desktop vaporizer, now it offers everything. NOW INCLUDED, quiet no fan mode for direct flow use and higher maximum temperature (215C).

These are great features to offer, especially the ability to turn off the fan for when clients want silence. If you don't require silence, we recommend clients keep the fan on whenever possible for improved air flow.

We recommend a max temp of 180C for every day use on the Rise 2.0. The vast majority of clients will not need higher than that and will get maximum vaporization while using that temp. For those few that need higher, you can now go all the way up to 215C for high temp use. Keeping in mind that the Rise does run hot, 215C on the Rise 2.0 is HOT. We just ask our clients to remember that higher temps are not better if unnecessary, they are worse for your lungs and can get you closer to combustion. When using the Rise 2.0, please use 180C or lower, if you find your specific plant needs a higher temp, then turn it up.

Vapir has made quite a few vaporizers over the years but the VapirRise is truly a high end top performing vaporizer.

The retail kit is very nice, a lot of effort was made to make everything look good. The parts are very good quality, a mix of Ceramic heating, Steel and Polymer. The unit itself looks great, simple while having every feature you need, easy to use while still having enough features to impress vapor enthusiasts. The heat up time was very fast, under 1 minute in most cases. The vapor production was also top notch for both direct flow and bag. The bag valve system works great and is easy to use, same routine on the 4 person direct flow adapter.

Conclusion: The VapirRise is our first vaporizer that has no cons. The reason for that is because it delivers a high end vaporizer for $249. You literally get every feature you want, direct flow and bag, full valve system, the works. The unit even comes with two chambers, one for plants and a separate one for oils. If you are looking for a high end desktop vaporizer that is still affordable, the VapirRise no question your best choice.

Why We Love the VapirRise
The VapirRise is a great vaporizer, we absolutely love it.
Why do we love it? The answer is easy. It not only delivers everything you could want in a desktop but it does it at a price that the majority of people can afford. We first got to try the VapirRise back in May, we had one of the first units available rushed to us in Toronto so we could demo it at the Treating Yourself Expo. We then of course got to bring it back to the hotel with us every night to use ourselves. The retail kit itself was really well done, the unit looked great, top quality parts, everything was there. The manual was very easy to follow and fairly well done. Our first direct flow session really impressed us. Everything fit together so easily and it heated up in no time. Within 2 minutes we were blowing out nice clouds of vapor with nice assistance from the fan. Thanks to a highly adjustable fan speed, you can have a bit of help or a lot of help. After that, we got out the bag and gave that a go. It filled up with nice substantial vapor and then we sat back and inhaled. No question one of the best bag systems we have ever used and it had an on/off switch, what more could we ask for. A truly amazing first experience for us despite 8 years of using vaporizers. It was almost as good as our very first Volcano bag, back in 2004. For $249.99, the VapirRise truly delivers. It is our current #1 overall preferred desktop. We love it. :)

Desktop vaporizers, fan vs no fan

We've been vaporizing for over 8 years now, we have used many different vaporizers, some with fan, some without.
Fans have many benefits; they can inflate bags, they can make direct flow inhalation easier.
They also can make vapor less intense by adding extra air.
To us, we prefer the extra air, we find its easier to inhale vs a fanless unit. Not only does the fan help push the vapor towards us but it helps keep the intensity down a bit by adding air volume to the flow. Some people may consider that a con but with modern fan units being able to go down to ultra low fan settings, the extra air is more nice than an issue. The vapor may be a bit thinner but we find this easier to inhale.
If your goal is the thickest vapor possible, then you should look at a direct flow unit without any form of fan.
That or a bag based system with adjustable fan, allowing you to slow down the fan, increase the vapor thickness.
If you have dry throat issues, a fan based direct flow unit is maybe not a great choice. We'd either recommend using bag or if you do go direct flow, a fan less unit with water tool would be ideal. We personally just have a glass of water near by and take sips as we go along.

VapirRise vs Extreme Q comparison:
First off, we'd like to say that we love both these desktop units.
They both offer great vaporizer experiences at an affordable price.

Extreme Q: Solid unit that's been out a long time, glass parts ensure smooth vapor, adjustable fan speed (including off), direct flow, bag, 3 year warranty
VapirRise: Well built unit, long term company, ultra durable steel and polymer parts, adjustable fan speed (always on), direct flow, bag, 1 year warranty

Both units are really well built, no doubt about it.
The Rise gets the edge on looks and buttons, the Extreme Q has a remote.

Bag system - The VapirRise bag system is superior to the Extreme Qs. The bag itself is better and the on/off switch works great, one of the best bag systems on the market without a doubt.
Direct Flow - Both units offer very good direct flow, the VapirRise also offers a 4 person direct flow adapter

For smoothness, the Extreme Q gets the edge due to glass parts.
We found both units to be very smooth and we are happy in that department.

For durability, the Rise wins, Steel and Polymers are tougher than glass.
Glass may be smoother but it is easily breakable.

Features, really tough call since they both have exclusive features. In the end, the Extreme Qs remote control is not better than a nice valve system on the Rise's bag system. A truly great feature that hasn't really been done well outside the Volcano.

Parts - Both companies offer very affordable replacement parts, all their parts are readily available

Oils - Both units can be used with oils, the only way to use oils with the Extreme Q  is via the pot pourri dish. For direct inhalation, you can do a mixture with plants or possibly cut up a liquid pad to make it in the bowl. The Rise comes with a chamber for essential oils right out of the gate which works great. We did find however that high temp oils required the use of a liquid pad and the plant chamber for them to vaporizer (we just used the Volcano Soild Valve Liquid pad). That's right, 204C on a VapirRise with a liquid pad, you have high temp oil vaporization, we have confirmed this ourselves.

Always on fan vs not: If you do not want a fan, you really shouldn't be looking at the Rise or the Extreme Q, you should consider a V-Tower or some other desktop units that don't have fan, which will cost you less. Whether it be direct flow or bag, we prefer the assistance the fan gives and the fact that it makes the vapor a little less dense, more easily inhaled. Some people might like ultra dense, potentially make you cough vapor, we prefer a bit of air mixed in. We do not consider always on fan to be a negative and if you don't like that feature, look at other units that don't have a fan, that simple.

Losing vapor while not inhaling: This is an issue we occasionally hear about for always on fan based direct flow units. We personally find the amount of vapor lost in between inhales on low fan speed setting to be negligible, a real non concern. And for sharing, the Rise offers a 4 person adapter so at no point should anyone be passing a tube or wasting when sharing. If you are that serious about getting every bit of vapor possible, we'd recommend filling up a bag at a lower speed setting.

Price: $199.99 + tax vs $249.99 including tax is very close price wise.

Warranty: 3 Years on the Extreme Q, 1 Year on the Rise (Extended available)
The Extreme Q does have the better warranty overall.

In the end, if you budget is $199.99 plus tax and direct flow without sharing is your priority, the Extreme Q is a great choice. That being said, if you have $249.99 including tax, like direct flow but want a better bag system, the Rise is the one to get.
